The Jamming Process

Well as most of you know, I have been posting and speakly lately of making Jams and preserves.

Well this morning after cleaning up from last night family BBQ i couldnt find one thing in my fridge- Who said Tupperware was a good thing?!? My fridge was chocka block and I couldnt even fit my freshly bought 2L Milk in it.. So i thought hmm something has to go!

Then they started dancing and singing and calling my name.. The whole punnet ( bar the 2 i had eaten) of Nectrines. So off I rush to turn the laptop BACK on... and pull up google and type "Nectrine Jam". I had never heard of it. Does it exsist? Well as I soon found out.. It does! And boy is it easy to make!!! The recipe called for Lemon juice but i had none, i did however have a Lime hiding in the crisper.. Meh its still a citrus I think to myself!

Nectrine Jam
Ingredients:
8 Cups of Chopped Nectrine ( Skin On)
3 Cups of Sugar
Juice of 1 Whole lime

Method:
1. Put all ingrediants into a large saucepan.
2. Simmer on Medium Heat for 30 minutes. Stirring occasionaly.
3. Prepare glass jars - See link below.
4. Pour Mix into Jars and put lids on.
5. Put filled Jars into a saucepan of boiling water for 10 minutes. To ensure they are sterile.
6. Take from water and place on bench to cool. Trust me when i say to use tongs and tea towel, both the water and Jars are hot ;)

So guess what my Nanna and Mummy are getting for Mothers Day? Ive decided to do a foodie gift basket! Jam, Bikkies, Muffins and I may even try to make some chilli tomato relish later on this week :)

P.S. How gorgoues is the colour of the Jam??? Just gotta get some pretty material and some ribbon to finish the Jars off :)

Sending lots of love and light
